We will not have Youth tomorrow because it is Christmas eve. We will have a movie night for both groups this Sunday 5:00 JR High 6:30 Dinner 7:00 High School. Bring friends. Have a Merry Christmas!!!

We are meeting Sunday. The JR high group will meet and go to Starbucks. The SR high group will meet and go eat tacos.

Don't forget we are not meeting tonight. The church is going to have A Walk In Bethlehem 6:00 and 7:30. It is going to be awesome bring friends tell everyone about it.

A Busy Sunday

It all started with the youth band playing at the 9:00 service. Everyone loved seeing the youth leading worship. The band was amazing! Good job! After the 9:00 service we set up for a banquet that night. A big thanks to all of those who helped out. We had a few students help set up Bethlehem. It looks great. If you ever need help putting in a fence post speak to Jessie Streitman. She showed up all of the guys. After the set up of Bethlehem we went out and collected canned food in the neighborhood. Oh yes and after that we went to Starbucks. It was a great day.

The devotional for today was a good one. Chambers talked about God revealing our personality. All we have to do is give Him everything else including our individuality. Josh Garrels Good stuff! I downloaded his album and it is good.

Downtime was a good book. I just finished it. Many of the suggestions we currently use in our group. Mark Yaconelli stresses the importance of silence. I remember at Sabbath our retreat for the SR high we gave students an hour of silence. They loved it. Some students told me they could not remember the last time they were still. He also talk about our separation from nature and how that numbs people. He said many of us live in a bubble we don't have to kill for food we, don't have to cut wood for heat, life is easy we live in a bubble. He said students crave for nature they want the basics, such as silence. The life of a student is cluttered with activity and as youth workers we need to help to take away the clutter. I agree, we need to give them rest in Christ and silence is a good way to do that. Today I will be starting a new book. It is called the New Conspirators-Creating The Future One Mustard Seed At A Time written by Tom Sine. I will comment on that book as well.

SR High Progressive Dinner

We had so much fun. Thanks to the Lipe Family, The Kelley Family and the Christianson family for providing some amazing food and hospitality. We started off at the youth house. Mary Christianson made us some yummy appitizers. After that we went to the Lipe house for a great main course, we ate beef storoganof. We met buddy Kendel's pet deer. After that we went to the Kelley house for dessert. We also had a chance to visit Marshal after injuring his knee at baskeball practice. We played the white elephant Christmas present game. It was great until Jordan opened his gift, a very loud recorder. It was a great night.

We had a great meeting. We watched Charlie Brown Christmas and talked about the true meaning of Christmas. We discussed how materialism can get in the way of why we really celebrate Christmas.
